
On
November 30, Wild Rose Public Schools was
awarded a Minister’s Education Leadership
Recognition Award (MELRA). The award recognizes
significant improvement or very high achievement
at district level. Of the ten possible
categories, Wild Rose Public Schools was awarded
a MELRA for recognized improvement in five
areas: Safe and Caring, School Improvement,
Healthful Living, Citizenship and Practical
Arts.

Since 1989 the Excellence
in Teaching Awards Program has recognized the
innovative and outstanding teaching that takes
place every day in classrooms across Alberta.
This program provides Albertans with a wonderful
opportunity to celebrate the many contributions
teachers make to student learning.
Parents,
teacher-colleagues, principals, superintendents
and all Albertans are encouraged to show their
appreciation by nominating an outstanding
teacher or principal for an Excellence in
Teaching Award.

Greetings and welcome to Wild Rose Public
Schools (WRPS). Wild Rose Public Schools takes pride
in its tradition of excellence and past

Wild Rose Public Schools is charged to create
powerful learning environments that lead to success
for all students and are characterized by high
expectations, ongoing assessment, and data driven
decision-making. The staff of Wild Rose is committed
to providing the best educational experience to each
of our students and we are very proud of the
successes that our students have enjoyed.
Wild
Rose Public Schools serves the communities of Rocky
Mountain House, Drayton Valley, Caroline,
Leslieville, Condor and Breton. We have 16 schools
and three alternate programs that serve
approximately 5400 students. We are a strong
professional learning community that is committed to
an excellent education for all of our students and
we encourage all our parents and community
stakeholders to get involved in the educational
process of our students as we believe that the
success of our students is a shared effort between
the schools, the home and the community.
Wild
Rose Public Schools employs over 650 full time and
part time staff members. Including 319 teachers and
350 support, maintenance, IT specialists, and bus
driving staff. Each one of our staff is committed to
providing a positive quality educational experience
