AFTER SCHOOL CHILD CARE

PROGRAM AT AURORA
Aurora runs a two hour after school child care program on school days.
When? From 3:07 until 5:20 on school days
(On Fridays, the program starts at 2:00 p.m.)
Cost? $4.50 per hour (see below for payment details)
Program: - snack time (the school will provide
a box drink, parents are
responsible for their child’s snack)
- gym
time (this may vary depending on the weather and availability of
the gym)
- homework/free
reading/quiet games
- computer
lab (personal projects & free time)
Who? The school has hired a teacher assistant to
supervise the program.
Payment? Punch cards are good for
10 hours of child care time. They can be purchased at the office.
A second hour on any given day starts at 4:15. Each card will cost
$45 (cheques made payable to Aurora School). Cards are punched
when the parent arrives to pick up their child.
After 5:20? If a parent is late picking up a child
we have to pay the teacher
assistant overtime at about $18/hr. The parent
will be charged the overtime cost.
Rules? We ask that parents phone the school
in the morning to let us know their child will be staying after school.
School rules and consequences will apply. The school reserves the
right to deny a parent the use of this program if problems should occur.
Parents will be expected to come into the building and talk with the teacher
assistant and ‘sign out’ their child before taking their child home.
