Local Authorities Pension Plan




Participation in the Local Authorities Pension Plan (LAPP) is based on the criteria outlined herein.




Classes of employees eligible to participate in the LAPP are those non-teaching staff members who are not members of the Teachers’ Retirement Fund, with the exception of school bus drivers, who are not eligible for participation.  Members of eligible classes of employees shall participate in LAPP provided they are regular employees whose regular scheduled hours of work are not less than 30 hours per week.


Once an employee has qualified to participate in the plan such participation shall continue until such time as the employee’s regular scheduled hours of work fall below 14 hours per week.


Employees are not eligible to participate in LAPP if they are substitute, temporary, casual or term appointed staff, or on initial hire work less than 30 hours per week.
