Smoke-Free Environment




Wild Rose School Division recognizes its responsibility for maintaining a low-hazard environment and its obligation under the Smoke Free Places Act (Bill 201, January 2006).  Being aware of the medical research which links smoking and smoke-laden environments with many serious illnesses, the Division acknowledges its responsibility to ensure a healthy environment, and supports the following principle:


  • The elimination of smoking by all persons within all buildings, on all school property and in vehicles owned, operated, or contracted by the Division.





1.      Individuals and groups seeking to use school facilities shall be notified of the provisions of this administrative procedure when application is made for the use of the facilities.


2.      Awareness programs on the hazards of smoking are encouraged.
