Applications are invited for a Temporary Full Time Kindergarten Teacher.

 
Aurora Elementary is seeking a full time kindergarten teacher, teaching two part time classes: M/W and alternate Fridays and T/Th and alternate Fridays. We are seeking a teacher who can create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration, discovery, and play-based learning. The preferred candidate should also be able to foster strong social-emotional development through positive guidance and effective classroom management strategies, while having a strong understanding of early childhood development and promising practices in Kindergarten education. For many children, Kindergarten may be the first formal school experience and Aurora strives to make it a positive one by working closely with our families, and school supports.

Duties will commence on August 25, 2025 and is expected to continue until February.

Aurora Elementary is a PreK-4 school situated in Drayton Valley, approximately 100 km southwest of Edmonton. Our school serves a community of around 370 students. We are equipped with a sensory room designed for student wellness, as well as flexible learning spaces. Our educational approach emphasizes positive behaviors through the Aurora Way. We offer a variety of special programs, including annual concerts, choirs, a drum club, a recorder club, cultural performances, daily physical education, intramurals, and targeted instructional groups. Additionally, students benefit from access to free healthy lunches and snacks, with an option for a paid hot lunch program.
