TEMPORARY PART TIME TIME EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANT

For Aurora Elementary School in Drayton Valley, Alberta

This position is covered by the Central Alberta Association of Municipal Employees Collective Agreement.  Please note, current CAAMSE applicants may be considered over non-CAAMSE applicants.  

Applications are invited for a Temporary Part Time Educational Assistant for Aurora Elementary School.  The successful candidate will work closely with classroom teachers and other school professionals to: support students in developing self-regulation skills, social-emotional learning, and positive coping strategies; and/or provide individualized and small group academic support in various subject areas (e.g., literacy, numeracy) and proactively identify and de-escalate challenging behaviours, maintaining a calm and supportive presence. This position may include toileting assistance. Autism spectrum training, AAC support skills, and current first aid are also assets.

This position will be 5.5 hours/day, Monday - Friday.
