Labour Action Update

Current situation as of September 30, 2025
On September 29, 2025, the Alberta Teachers' Association (ATA) announced that members voted 89.5% to reject the agreement with the Teachers' Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA).
This vote will allow teachers to begin strike action as of Monday, Oct. 6.
What to expect in Wild Rose School Division:
It is still possible the ATA and TEBA could reach a resolution before that date, although it appears unlikely at this point. If there is no resolution, it means teaching and learning will not continue and schools will be closed, as of October 6. Should a strike occur, extracurricular activities, field trips, and other school events will also be suspended. We strongly encourage parents to make childcare arrangements beginning on October 6 as schools will not be open should there be teacher strike action.
We will communicate more information about the next steps in this process as they become available.
Wild Rose School Division respects the provincial bargaining process.
About the bargaining process
Wild Rose is not involved in this stage of negotiations. Bargaining between the Teacher Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA) and the ATA occurs at the provincial level.
