Wild Rose School Division & Timberline Local ATA Celebrate Their New Teachers
This year Wild Rose School Division welcomed 21 teachers to the division. Some of these teachers have a wealth of experience from other divisions and others are excited to begin their first teaching assignments with us.
Wild Rose School Division held a New Teacher Orientation Day in August to welcome all of these teachers and ease their transition into our schools. As well, WRSD has instituted a mentorship program in which new teachers are matched with experienced colleagues with whom they can turn to for guidance and support throughout the year. Timberline Local No. 9, which represents WRSD teachers, has also supported our beginning teachers by offering grant in aid to attend the Alberta Beginning Teachers Conference in either Edmonton or Calgary. As well, all new teachers will be formally welcomed to the Alberta Teachers’ Association in our annual Timberline Induction Ceremony in February.
WRSD and Timberline Teachers are excited to have these new teachers in our classrooms and are committed to supporting them as they strive to create their own powerful learning communities this year and in the years to come.
